DE QUEEN, Ark.—A stream runs through the Herman Dierks Park causing erosion and drainage problems, but the “stream team” of the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission may change the course and solve the problems.

The team has started preparing a plan for the stream and the De Queen City Council listened to a recent proposal, said De Queen Mayor Billy Ray McKelvy.

A portion of the stream has a dike with a 6-foot diameter pipe and during heavy rains the flow of water fills the pipe.
