Health coalition kicks off today

Residents and businesses encouraged to get involved

The coalition is asking for public involvement.
The Miller County Hometown Health Initiative kicked off its efforts for a healthier community Wednesday with a luncheon at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Area Health Education Center.

The Hometown Health Initiative is a coalition of businesses, individuals and health care entities striving to improve health in the Texarkana area.

“It means everybody in the community comes together as partners and we do different projects for the community,” said Tonya Domokos, chairman for Hometown Health, which is in its infancy.
