A local attorney has won an Arkansas family the largest civil judgment in Ouachita County history.

Chad Trammell, of the Texarkana firm Nix, Patterson and Roach, elicited disturbing testimony in the trial concerning the last two weeks of 74-year-old Herman Johnson’s life. The jury awarded $2,287,891 to Johnson’s estate in the suit filed against one of the nation’s largest nursing home chains, Beverly Healthcare, which operated a facility in Camden, Ark.
