Crumbling historic building demolished to make way for auditorium parking

Historic but dilapidated, the Westbrook Auto building was taken down Saturday.

In its place will be a landscaped parking lot for the Arkansas Municipal Auditorium, which is being gradually renovated.

“We have been looking forward to this for more than a year now,” said Mark Shoptaw, president of the Arkansas Municipal Auditorium Commission. “Everything went perfect.”
