Texarkana College received more than $500,000 in grants this year from the U.S. Department of Education.

The grants will be used toward Talent Search and Student Support Services programs. The grants are offered through the Department of Education’s federal TRIO program, designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as first-generation college students.

TC officials said Talent Search and SSS work in tandem to encourage college attendance after high school graduation and ensure student success once enrolled in classes.
