St. James Episcopal Church will host an ecumenical service of thanksgiving for the legal profession at 6 p.m. Monday.

The speaker will be Justice Robert L. Brown, who has served on the Arkansas Supreme Court since 1991.

The event is held in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the Texas Court of Appeals and is a tradition based on the annual service for the opening of the courts at Westminster Abbey since the 13th century.

The event is open to all members of the legal profession and the public.
