The Texas Sixth District Court of Appeals open house commemorating its 100th anniversary will be 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today on the second floor of the Bi-State Justice Building, 100 N. State Line Ave.

When decisions rendered in the lower state courts are disputed in Texas, the Court of Appeals can be asked to review the outcomes of civil and criminal actions. The only state court with more power is the Texas Supreme Court.
