It’s out with the old in Iron Mountain

Condemned buildings being torn down

Iron Mountain neighborhood residents are seeing big returns as revitalization efforts progress.

“I’m very pleased that we have been able to concentrate on concerns in the Iron Mountain and other areas,” said Mayor Horace Shipp.

On the same block as the brand new Bouldware Temple Church, in the 2200 block of East Ninth Street, four buildings have been condemned and are being torn down.

The city has condemned 60 structures to be razed.
