Independent school districts in Redwater and Maud, Texas, passed rollback tax rates during Saturday’s election. Redwater approved a rate of $1.17, while Maud approved $1.2208.

“We’re excited. This speaks well for Redwater and will mean our school will start receiving the additional $600,000 in state funding,” said Ann Farris, Redwater interim superintendent. “This election gave the people a chance to have a voice in what is happening in their school, and we are so pleased to see the support from the community. This was a team effort by everyone in getting the word out.”
