The third annual Mainstreet Downtown Blues and Bar-B-Q Festival benefiting Main Street Texarkana and the downtown renovations was one of the best yet, said those who attended Saturday.

“We had such a great time last year we had to come back,” said Irma Houff of Texarkana, Texas, who was at the festival with her friend Walter Cole Jr.

Houff was tapping her feet to the sounds of a blues singer as she praised the music.

“Every year it gets better. This is the best so far, and I’m looking forward to next year,” she said.
