Fire damages former classroomsCrack pipes found in Ashdown building
![]() Staff photo by Jim Williamson The roof of a classroom collapsed Sunday afternoon during a fire in southwest Ashdown. The building is owned by the Little River County Training School Alumni Association. Evidence of people sleeping in the building and crack pipes were found inside the building, said Arkansas State Police Special Agent Hays McWhirter, but it was unknown if the fire was started accidentally or deliberately. But it’s unknown how the fire started Sunday or if it was intentional or accidental, said Arkansas State Police Special Agent Hays McWhirter.
