After months of collecting neighborhood petitions and obtaining all the necessary paperwork, Texarkana, Ark., Historic District commissioners announced Wednesday the Quality Hill Historic District is now a reality.

During their regular monthly meeting, City Planner Eston McGee told commissioners the Quality Hill neighborhood now has the honor of being the first recognized historic district on the Arkansas side since the late 1970s.
