A juvenile volunteer was allegedly sexually assaulted Saturday by a man who was serving community service at the Texarkana Animal Shelter, at 203 Harrison Drive in Texarkana, Ark.

The alleged rape is said to have happened about 1 p.m. Saturday as the juvenile was working at the shelter, according to a statement issued by the Texarkana, Ark., Police Department.

The suspect had been assigned to serve community punishment hours at the shelter, police said.
