The Boy Scouts of Caddo Area Council are hoping to collect their millionth can of food during the 20th annual Scouting for Food and Books Drive.

Scouts kicked off the event Wednesday morning with the help of several area nonprofit agencies and businesses at McDonald’s on Richmond Road.

Gathered items benefit needy people in the community.
