Crash with train kills man, 57Reports say driver talking on cell phone at time of impact
![]() Staff photos by Terri Richardson Union Pacific Railroad crews, above, hook a 1990 Ford Bronco to a crane after the Bronco’s driver, 57-year-old Michael Wayne Treadway, died on impact in an accident about 9:40 a.m. Sunday after crossing into the path of an Amtrak passenger train at County Road 3624 near Queen City, Texas. The train pushed the truck more than a quarter of a mile before stopping. At left, Cass County Volunteer Fire District 2 firefighter Michael Clark looks on Sunday afternoon as UP crews work with a wrecker service to remove the Bronco. “According to his son, the driver was talking to his son on a cell phone at the time of the crash,” said Trooper Eric White with the Texas Department of Public Safety, who investigated the crash.
