After seven years in the saddle, Patricia Weldon is handing over the reins.

Weldon is the founder of the Runnin’ WJ Ranch, a nonprofit organization offering therapeutic horse riding. A horse lover all her life, Weldon had never considered using her passion to aid the physically and mentally challenged, but the plan fell into her lap.

“In 2000, John Jarvis gave me a packet about North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. I devoured the information,” she said.
