A woman who allegedly shot her sister in the leg during an argument pleaded not guilty in a Bowie County courtroom Monday afternoon.

Crystal Renee Young, 27, stood before District Judge Ralph Burgess with her defense attorney, Derric McFarland of Texarkana.

Young faces aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct with a firearm charges.

The 1-year-old daughter of the suspect’s sister was playing in the living room where the shooting occurred on Feb. 9, 2007, court documents state.

“This was an unfortunate incident,” McFarland said....
