A Texarkana, Texas, man received a sentence of 12 months and one day in federal prison Wednesday for fraud related to hurricane relief.

Gary Trice, 36, will have to pay back the roughly $36,000 he received illegally from FEMA and the Louisiana Department of Labor during 2005 and 2006 after he finishes the time Federal District Judge David Folsom of the Eastern District of Texas ordered him to serve behind bars.

He will also be supervised for three years by federal probation authorities following his release.
