Texas-side children were given a separate Shop with a Cop shopping spree Tuesday morning at the Walmart on State Line Avenue.

“Every child got an official, either a police officer or firefighter,” said Texarkana, Texas, Sgt. Shawn Fitzgerald between the teaming isles of toys, chattering children, police and parents.

Some children had more than one uniformed shopping mentor.

The police officers and firefighters helped the children budget for special treasures as they spent a $100 allowance.
