ASHDOWN, Ark.—Two males attempted to rob the Ashdown Economy Inn Saturday night but left the office empty-handed.

The attempted robbery was reported about 7:30 p.m. Saturday when two suspects entered the office of the motel at 944 N. Constitution Ave. (U.S. Highway 71 North), said Ashdown Police Det. Jason Curtis.

The clerk said two males walked into the office.

One male was wearing a hood over his head and was carrying a “long gun”—possibly a shotgun, said Curtis.

The second male squatted down in front of the counter.
