BROKEN BOW, Okla.—Alexandria, La.-based Heartland Energy Group has announced its intention to open an alternative fuel station with ethanol-based E85 here in Southeast Oklahoma.

“This is a major step in fulfilling our mission in making flex fuels available to the American public,” said Roy Thornhill, president of startup company Heartland Energy Group, in a statement.

In a phone interview, Thornhill said the company has leased a location for the service station, ordered pumps and plans to open in Broken Bow in 2008.
