Pleasant Grove Elementary fourth-graders are getting a taste of higher education through the new University of Enrichment program.

The program started Oct. 9.

The nine-course program is taught by six fourth-grade teachers and three art, music and technology teachers.

“It gives the students more one-on-one. We have between eight to 14 students per class,” said teacher Leah Poe.

Poe is teaching an introduction to American sign language. The class description says sign language is the third most-used language in the United States.
