Toddler dies in Nash house fire

Six survive blaze with few injuries

A 3-year-old Nash, Texas, girl died early Thursday when fire consumed her family’s home on Green Forest Trail.

The child was identified as Damiyah Diamonique Carson, said Nash Fire Chief Steve Rogers. Two adults and four other children managed to get out safely with few injuries.

“We were told by the mother that when she woke up, the house was already fully engulfed and it was hard to see. Getting all of the kids out was a problem,” Rogers said.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
