Four grants totaling $44,030 were awarded by the Rural Development Commission of Arkansas to four communities in southwest Arkansas for firefighting equipment.

The grants include: $16,530.30 to Gillham to maintain fire fighting equipment, $2,500 to Ben Lomond to refurbish a brush fire truck, $15,000 to Vandervoort to fund the Stage 1 construction of a new rural fire department building, and $10,000 to Wallace to purchase a new tanker truck.
