Arkansas Rep. Steve Harrelson, D-Texarkana, will seek re-election to serve a final term in the House of Representatives.

The Texar-kana Democrat is a lifelong resident of the city and has represented District 1 since 2005.

He became House majority leader in 2006.

Harrelson battled against the streamlined tax that was recently implemented. He hopes to see some changes on the issue before he leaves office.

“My objective has always been to leave this place better than I found it,” Harrelson said.
