The Ark-Tex Council of Governments Executive Committee held its regular meeting this week in Omaha, Texas, and several Texarkana-related items were on the agenda.

Grant applications for Faith, Love and Hope youth center and the Sandflat Glendale-Shannon Community Center, both in Texarkana, Ark., were approved unanimously by committee members.

The grants are being requested of the Arkansas Department of Human Services for $55,000 each for drug prevention programs.
