K-9 search team plays vital role

When minutes count and the truth is waiting just beyond sight, search and rescue dogs guide their human companions toward answers.

The Bowie County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team members train year-round in all conditions to better emulate real search situations. The team includes 12 dogs and their human trainers who meet twice a week to hone the skills needed in emergency situations. They also hold a monthly classroom meeting.
