The Breathe Easy Ark-Tex Tobacco Coalition is expanding its youth program, Teens with the Beat, to middle schools next year thanks to a grant from the Arkansas Tobacco Service Commission.

“It’s going to allow us to expand Teens with the Beat, our youth prevention and leadership program,” Tonya Domokos, BEAT director, said of the $23,000 grant. “We’ll be going into middle schools, and Teens with the Beat will now be mentors to middle school students.”

Currently the program is aimed at high school students.
