Trial in sexual assault case delayed until March

MURFREESBORO, Ark.—The trial of a Delight, Ark., girls basketball coach charged with first-degree sexual assault has been delayed until March 13.

It is the second time the trial of 27-year-old Chad D. Smith has been postponed. The charge against Smith stems from alleged sexual misconduct with a student over a period of several months.

The affidavit for an arrest warrant was filed against Smith on March 14, 2007. The affidavit contained one paragraph stating a girl enrolled in the Delight School District alleged that “from Oct. 1, 2006, to March 5, 2007, she had oral sex...
