Damaging winds tear across the area, overturn fire truck

ASHDOWN, Ark.—A fire truck overturned Monday morning while on patrol for damages from strong winds that swept across Southwest Arkansas.

A Hicks Volunteer Fire Department “brush truck” overturned around 10:38 a.m., wrecking the truck but leaving the driver with minor injuries.

Volunteer firefighter Jason Rhodes was driving through heavy rains southbound on Hicks Road about 2 miles northeast of Ashdown when the truck went onto the shoulder.
