Salvation Army volunteers, from left, Ann Johns, June Whitfield and Joyce Nottingham spent Wednesday creating enough taco soup to feed 600 plus people today at the Stone Soup Luncheon. They used 108 pounds of ground beef, 540 cans of various veggies and 40 pounds of chopped onions. The luncheon, a tradition of the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Cabe Center at First United Methodist Church, Arkansas, Sixth and Laurel. On the menu are taco soup, Texas toast, fresh salad, homemade desserts and tea for $8 per ticket.
