Two people were killed in separate vehicle accidents Thursday on U.S. Highway 71 in Sevier County.

A De Queen, Ark., woman, Karen Taylor, died when her vehicle crossed the center line at Johnson Creek Bridge just north of Lockesburg, Ark., and hit an 18-wheeler head on.

In the second accident, a 23-year-old Texarkana, Texas, man identified as Hunter T. Sewell was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while walking on the highway near the Falls Chapel community.

According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, the first accident was at 4 p.m.
