Bidders pony up at area mustang auctionFeral horses offer connection to nation’s past

The public got a chance to take that heritage home with them at the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management’s Adopt-a-horse program held at Hope’s Livestock Coliseum. The Spivey family of Cale, Ark., decided to attend the three-day auction in hopes of adopting a burro. “Our family has about 200 acres with cows and we came to get a donkey.
