The Texarkana, Texas, City Council will hear a presentation on its next big investment—automatic meter readers—during today’s regular council meeting at 7 p.m.

Texarkana Water Utilities already has about 1,500 AMRs operating in Texarkana, Ark., and hopes to purchase up to 2,500 more for Texarkana, Texas. The cost will be $370,075, using funds from the city’s utility capital improvement fund.
