Members of the Texarkana Retired Teachers Association walked more than 32.6 million steps—or 16,337 miles—for the 2007 Texas Retired Teachers Association’s Walk-A-Million Program.

Mary Nell Stuart, president of the local association, expressed her appreciation to all the Walk-A-Million participants.

Essie Dodd, Health Care Committee chairman, said the purpose of the Walk-A-Million program is to encourage the state’s 64,000 members in more than 250 local groups to walk daily.
