3 cases of rabies confirmed in area
There have been two confirmed cases of rabies in Bowie County this year, and experts say the contagious and fatal viral disease has moved into the area with a greater frequency than recent years.
The strain of rabies found in East Texas was particular to skunks and found mostly in skunks or bats. One case was confirmed in a skunk in late January by Texarkana, Texas, Animal Control.
