The Texarkana Animal Shelter is competing with other nonprofit organizations to be the recipient of $10,000 from “Oprah’s Big Give ArkLaTex” through KTBS-TV Channel 3.

People who would like to help the shelter can do so by going to www.KTBS.com and click on “Oprah’s Big Give ArkLaTex $10,000.” Then click on Texarkana Animal Shelter. People need to register to submit a comment for the shelter. Only one comment per registration is permitted.

The shelter would use the money to kick off its Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program. The deadline to vote is 5 p.m. Saturday.
