Carol Dalby, a former Arkansas Supreme Court associate justice and district court judge, was unanimously appointed Tuesday night to the Texarkana, Ark., School District board, replacing resigning longtime member Ray Nelson.

Dalby, who is currently the legal attorney for Bowie County, will be sworn in at the Miller County Clerk’s office later this week.

Board member I. Donald Nelson, who was assistant principal of Arkansas High School when Dalby attended, said the board selected her for three reasons.
