Texarkana College’s nursing program always has been the college’s pride and joy, and Dr. Carol Hodgson believes that will continue, despite concerns about time and money.

Hodgson, chairman of the Health Occupations Division, reported on the history and future outlook for the associate nursing program during Tuesday’s board meeting.

“Faculty shortages are a challenge for all nursing programs,” Hodgson said. “An aging faculty is also a concern—56 years old is the average age of our faculty.”
