Concrete falling apart at Razorback Stadium, say officials


Staff photo by Evan Lewis Razorback Stadium may undergo some needed maintenance soon due to concrete deterioration, say school officials. The Texarkana, Ark., School District’s Board of Directors approved the hiring of BDA Design Group of Texarkana, Ark., to oversee repairs and restoration to the 37-year-old stadium.
The concrete deterioration at Arkansas High School’s Razorback Stadium warrants mending, officials said Tuesday night at the Texarkana, Ark., School District board meeting.

“The Razorback Stadium is in need of cosmetic repair in order to prevent more serious safety issues,” said Superintendent Russell Sapaugh.

He said the engineering firm of Clough, Harbor & Associates of Sanger, Texas has reviewed the stadium twice, on March 17, 2005, and March 10 of this year. The engineers have discussed options for addressing the repair with the administration, school officials sai...
