With violins in hand, 13 Spring Lake Elementary School students set a performing arts tone to Tuesday’s meeting of the Texarkana Independent School District Board of Trustees.

Under the direction of violin instructor Jason Ashley, the students serenaded the board as the trustees sat down to discuss the final design plans for the future Sullivan Performing Arts Center and the John Thomas Theatre.
