Texarkana is home to several hundred churches, all of which are a vital part to this area’s history, said Jamie Simmons, curator of the Texarkana Museums System.

To make the most of the predominately untapped resource of knowledge, TMS is undertaking a project designed to exhibit the history of area churches and hopes all will participate.

Simmons said this project, which developed from the system’s substantial Wilbur Smith Research Archive, is a great way to get more of the overall history of Texarkana.
