Some want alcohol sold in Nash

Petitioners hope to get issue on ballot

Nash voters will likely decide in November if the city will be wet but officials from both Texarkanas say it wouldn’t dry up their sales tax revenues.

The petition to sell all types of alcohol in Nash was initiated by resident Catherine Bernice Hesson.

Randy Valenzuela, owner of the Fiesta House Mexican food restaurant on New Boston Road and Hesson’s father, said it’s possible to apply for and get a permit to sell alcohol in his restaurant now.

But selling alcohol in the City of Nash would provide a travel convenience for consumers.
