The lack of construction bidding on a technology network project has gotten Texarkana, Ark., School District officials in trouble with the state, according to a Legislative Joint Audit Committee report.

But it may have little to no consequence, state officials say.

“It was only a compliance issue. We will follow up in our report next year,” said David Terrell, legislative audit committee supervisor.

Terrell said in extreme cases the audit findings can be turned over to prosecutorial agencies, but TASD’s file has been closed.
