The Texarkana Humane Society is putting together a cookbook to raise money for its many programs aimed at helping animals in this area.

It’s the organization’s first time for a fund-raiser like this.

“We wanted to do something different that other people hadn’t done before,” said Cricket Williams, president of the Humane Society.

People can submit recipes to be used in the book for free.

A Humane Society sponsorship can be purchased for $100, which includes a page in the cookbook for a pet photo, recipe or advertising. Sponsors’ names will also ...
