Today is the kickoff for 2008 Movies in the Park, with “Enchanted” showing at Spring Lake Park. The film, rated PG, is about an animated princess magically brought into the real world.

Viewers can bring blankets and chairs, drinks and snacks, but smoking and alcohol are prohibited. A concession stand will be on site.

The city parks department tries to treat against fire ants, but citizens are encouraged to remain watchful when choosing a seat.

The movie is free and begins at 8 p.m.
