The American Heart Association Heart Walk festivities will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Spring Lake Park. The walk will kick off about 9:25 a.m.

So far, 19 teams have signed up for the event and organizers hope things will go off without a hitch.

“At this point I think the weather is going to be perfect for the event. We’re excited about the opportunity for the community to work together to fight heart disease for the people of our region,” said Francine Francis, public relations chairman for the event.
