Residents offer prayers for guidance, protection

With hands and hearts outstretched toward the city, area residents joined together to observe National Day of Prayer on Thursday.

Specific prayers for the country were reiterated at the many observances held in Texarkana.

Hundreds of people from various denominations and cultures attended the observances with representation from organizations throughout the city.

The upcoming political elections were of particular focus at the Sugar Hill United Methodist Church and Downtown Post Office services.
