The work of Red River Army Depot employees was in the limelight Friday when U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates toured the facility.

A large group of military officials escorted Gates along production lines as he watched workers tear apart and rebuild military vehicles.

“Red River has always come through in times of war,” Gates said. “Today it provides life-saving equipment to our fighting troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
