The Singing Men of East Texas will be in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 500 E. New Boston Road, Nash.

The group, one of six similar ensembles across the state of Texas, is sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. It is composed of music ministers, college professors, church staff ministers and laymen from area churches.

The group performs Negro spirituals, contemporary, Southern gospel, classical and traditional hymns. Typically 40 to 50 men perform at the group’s events.
